Reflection Topics and Due Dates |
What IS a Reflection for 8th grade Religion class? A Reflection is a more in-depth writing by each student on a Topic Question that is presented to students about a week in advance of the Due Date. Students are expected to slooooow dooooown their thinking so they can reflect / write more deeply about a topic. There are up to 6 Reflections during the quarter, with each Reflection being 1 1/2 to 2 pages in length (hand-written), about 350 to 700 words. These Reflections then provide the basis for class discussions/debates, noting that NO STUDENT REFLECTIONS are read in their entirety in class, nor viewpoints of specific students shared with other students. This is a personal writing / opinion that is shared only with the teacher.
